Lecture “Human being in Contemporary World - Conflict of Values: War of Peace?!”
On the 22nd of June 2012, Cornelia Koller, who completes a voluntary service within the European Voluntary Service (EVS) at the Women’s Information Center in Tbilisi for six months. During her work in Georgia, Cornelia delivered a lecture on “Human Being in contemporary World – Conflict of Values: War of Peace?!” at American Studies Institute of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
Students of the Master Program of American Studies Institute were introduced to the topic of conflict and peace studies, analyzing what is a conflict and what is peace, and discussing conflict resolution versus conflict transformation as pragmatism versus transcendentalism.
The participants of the lecture engaged into an interesting discussions and elaborated on different understandings of conflict and how to deal with it as well as possibilities and ways on how to achieve peace.
The lecture was organized by the American Studies Institute of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
